Canon-McMillan High School Academic Team was the winner of the 22nd Annual Intermediate Unit 1 Academic Competition held on , in Miller Hall at Waynesburg University.
This tri-county academic competition was held to determine the high school academic team that would represent the Intermediate Unit 1 region at the Pennsylvania State Academic Competition. The Canon-McMillan High School Academic Team will participate in the State Competition to be held on , in the House and Senate Chambers at the State Capitol Building in Harrisburg, PA. The team is coached by faculty member, Steve Kropinak.
The four high school academic team contenders that competed in the IU1 Competition included:
- Canon-McMillan
- Charleroi Area
- Laurel Highlands
- Waynesburg Central
Each high school team was a winner in their individual regional Academic League operating in Fayette, Greene, and Washington Counties. Mrs. Linda Fetchen served as Quizmaster, and judges included: Audrey Mowry, Nancy Stahlschmidt, and Sarah D’Urzo. Dr. James Dowler, Curriculum Specialist at IU1, coordinated the event.
