This position is designed to support the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education in providing training and technical assistance to build the capacity of local educational agencies to serve students who receive special education services.
Must have at minimum 5 years experience in education, a degree in Special Education or related area, and PA Certification: Instructional I or Education Specialist I with level II and supervisory certifications preferred. Regional and limited statewide travel is a requirement of this position.
The successful candidate should have experience with the implementation of effective secondary transition practices for students with disabilities including: vocational assessment, interagency collaboration, student self-determination/self-advocacy, career exploration, work readiness skill development, work based learning, community based instruction, vocational training and awareness of IDEA, WIOA, Employment First, and Labor Laws.
